Radio509 recently also uses the Comrex Opal and station manager Peter Kroon now shares his experiences.
'I have to try that!'
Because of the corona crisis almost all Radio509 employees were at home. In order to continue the
programmes live, connections were made with Skype and Facetime', says Peter.A number of times a
year Triple Audio sends a newsletter to its customers. In the last edition there was an article about the Comrex Opal. Peter: 'I
immediately thought: this device I should try'.
Edwin, engineer at Triple Audio, has demonstrated the Comrex Opal for Peter. When it became clear that the device was easy to operate', says Peter.
Simplicity is a must
At Radio509 authentic non visual radio is made. Peter: 'The employees of Radio509 have a well-trained
hearing, because most of them see little or nothing. It's nice when you can hear better than average in the radio world, but with Radio509
the equipment has to be easy to operate'.
With the Comrex Opal app on your smartphone, you can make contact with the studio and report live,' says Peter. Besides the employees of Radio509, guests also have the possibility to easily download the app. Besides an application, Comrex Opal can also be opened in a browser on, for example, a laptop phone.
Peter: 'Thanks to the Opal, guests no longer have to come to the studio. It is even possible to talk to several guests at the same time in good sound quality. Meanwhile, the Opal at Radio509 is also used for recording podcasts'.
Radio509 can be listened to everywhere in the Netherlands via the digital cable of a.o. KPN channel 830. But also via the Radio509 app and online.
