Every once in a while we take a product and put in their deserved spotlights; Lost Found. This time: Sonifex AVN Grandmaster!
Timing is the most important thing in the world of AoIP. You can choose from a big variety in time systems specially made for broadcasters. Sonifex takes the cake when it comes to accuracy in synchronizing different nodes. The ‘new’ Sonifex Grandmaster comes in three types:
- Sonifex AVN-GMCS-TCXO €1260,94 (including 3% web discount)
- Sonifex AVN-GMCS-OCXO €1697,44 (including 3% web discount)
- Sonifex AVN-GMCS-CSAC €6971,81 (including 3% web discount)
The Sonifex AVN Grandmaster is especially made for AES67 and SMPTWE ST 2110-networks and makes sure that every node is synchronized.
The difference between these three grandmasters, besides the name and price, is accuracy. The TCXO is accurate to 1 part per million (worst case 1 sec gain/loss every 11.5 days). The TCXO (Temperature Compensated Oscillator) is accurate to 0.1 parts per million (worst case 1 sec gain/loss every 115 days). The CSAC (Quantum Atomic Clock) is accurate to 0.0005 parts per million (worst case 1 sec gain/loss every 63 years).
